Converse and Ibn Jasper, the Chicago-based barber turned global style icon, have come together to conceptualize a novel blend of skate style, high-performance racing, and street luxury, and draped their dream onto the One Star.
Introducing their second collaboration, and their first dating back to 2019, the Converse x Ibn Jasper One Star channels Jasper’s conversational approach to style, which is rooted in his background in the barbershop – a community cornerstone where laughs, stories, and ideas are shared and exchanged.
Jasper’s mission to stay authentic and create art that sparks the spirited conversations found within the confines of barbershops worldwide is accomplished with a reimagining of the One Star that fuses his passions for motorsports and skateboarding.
Deploying a premium combination of leather and suede with hits of metallic snake print, Jasper presents a flow of patterns, colors, and details that reference the aesthetic and technical nature of race cars – imbuing a unique juxtaposition of motorsport-fueled style onto a skateable silhouette.
The detail-oriented nature of racing is on display with the Converse x Ibn Jasper One Star, which is flush with luxe touches, including gold eyelets and lace tips, a silver reflective star, and leather lace loops. An exaggerated leather tongue features an embroidered checkered flag and an “Ibn Jasper Mechanic” logo detail on the lining, while a metallic snake print adorns the top heel.
Ultimately, Jasper’s racing-inspired aesthetic remains totally skateable, as the One Star always does.
