As summer begins to swell, Skullcandy is excited to share that pro surfer and musician, Conner Coffin, has been inducted to their Ambassador Program. The pairing represents the perfect intersection of board sports and music, with Conner embodying Skullcandy’s brand DNA.
Hailing from Santa Barbara, CA, Conner has always had a love and passion for the ocean and began surfing at an early age. Since that first dip, there has been no stopping him.
Coffin’s smooth, clean and powerful style comes from years of growing up surfing those famous point-breaks. After a few years biding his time and traveling the world, Conner began to compete professionally and in 2015 qualified for the World Championship Tour for the coveted World Title.
Since 2015, Conner has placed in the below competitions and is currently in South Africa for the JBay stop:
- 2017 1stplace Vans world cup, Hawaii
- 2016 2ndplace MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal
- 2016 Qualified for World Championship Tour
Outside of surfing, Conner enjoys playing the guitar and creating music as another creative outlet while he’s on the road. Conner released his first EP earlier this year titled Conner Coffin & Friends featuring six cover songs including “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” The songs represent his early years growing up in Santa Barbara and each brings back different memories for him. Although surfing is his main focus, he would like to play live more in the future and continue to explore writing and recording.
Conner joins a list of amazingly talented athletes apart of Skullcandy’s Ambassador Roster including surfer Coco Ho, snowboarder Travis Rice and snowboarder Hailey Langland.
“[The most exciting part about joining the Skullcandy team is] the connection with music and boardsports. Skullcandy is devoted to bridging the gap between those two and that got me super excited. I love the idea of taking music with you too because I’m always listening to it. On the plane, or before my heat, and it means a lot to have good headphones to travel with. Music is a tool, it makes me happy and gets me excited to surf.”
