With a 10/15 delivery, the new optical line from RAEN continues the company’s dedication to produce quality eyewear, customer service and quiet sophistication for a reasonable price.

 

“We were seeing many of our friends, ambassadors and artists putting prescription lenses in RAEN frames. It was obvious that we needed to launch our own Rx line,” says Justin Heit, co-founder. “And our benchmarks for the optical line are the same as for our sunglasses—handmade; heartfelt; independent. We’re confident that the quality on offer for this price-point is currently unmatched in the optical market.”

 

The new Rx line carries on RAEN’s tradition of authenticity and handmade optics, offering them to consumers at a fraction of the cost by other manufacturers. Handmade Rx frames start at only $180 MSRP. The line boasts limited zyl acetate and features luxury finishes throughout. The lightweight acetate frames also include rivet-hinge hardware for comfort and durability.

 

“We’re a company of designers, so we tend to obsess over details,” explains Co-Founder Jeremy Heit. “In launching our own Rx line, we want to make sure that every element of the new frames are on-point.”

 

Frames in the optical line are all named after surf spots important to the Heit brothers and the California lifestyle they represent with pride:

 

Simmons – Legendary early shaper and San Diego surf pioneer.

 

Saint Malo – The North County San Diego wave on which the brothers learned how to surf.

 

Eighty-Five Sixty – A break named after markings on a railroad that lead up to the secret spot.

 

Leo Carillo – An early film icon and home of the first surf-inspired camping trip with their dad

 

Seaside – A spot near the studio they frequent on lunch breaks
