Zumiez same store sales fall in February

Zumiez said this afternoon that February same store sales fell 8.9%.

Last February, same store sales rose 14.2%.

Comps by week were:

1. -23.8%

2. -6.1%

3. -6.4%

4. +0.3%

Several categories posted negative results including footwear, men’s, accessories and boys.

Junior’s and hardgoods posted positive results.

Due to the calendar shift for Easter this year, the company expects March sales to be negatively effected and April sales to be positively impacted.

Zumiez operates 472 stores in the U.S., 21 in Canada, and 8 in Europe.
