Billabong has introduced a customized boardshort program to support core retailers during the global pandemic.

Called “Create For the Core,” the program allows shoppers to use Billabong’s custom boardshort platform to support and represent their local shops. All proceeds from the purchases will be donated to the shops.

Customers can either create their own boardshort or they can purchase the boardshort that is predesigned by the shop itself. Each shop also has their own patch that can be added to the boardshort. The shops featured this month include HIC, Hansen’s, Nomad, WRV, Sunrise, Surfside Sports, Heritage, and Farias.

“None of us would be here today if it weren’t for the iconic surf shops that helped shape our industry,” Billabong Vice President of Sales Jason Shelton said. “And this idea came about largely through our ongoing conversations with them during this pandemic. It’s a great way to support your local community and your local shop.”
