As part of the changes announced at Quiksilver yesterday, Taylor Whisenand has left the company.

Taylor worked at Quiksilver for a total of 24 years during two stints. Most recently he was SVP of Sales of the Quiksilver brand in the Americas.

During his latest tenure, he worked through some turbulent chapters at the company, including the reign of CEO Andy Mooney, organizational restructurings, challenging financial times and the bankruptcy filing. But from what I observed, he always retained his love and passion for the brand and an upbeat outlook.

I confirmed with him yesterday that he has left the company, and he shared with me the note he sent to the staff upon his departure.

“Today is my last day at Quiksilver and I wanted to thank you for the amazing experience.

“I’ve spent over half my life working for Quiksilver in some capacity over two tenures, and my romance with the brand has always centered around the lifestyle, culture and people that create it.  The people make our brand great and I’ve had the privilege to work and learn from some of the best people in the business.

“Enjoy the next chapter and work hard to return Quiksilver to its rightful place as the best boardriding lifestyle brand in the world.

“I’ll be watching and cheering for its success.”
