Hires from Sun Bum, Vuori and Stance to support expansion of the brand.
Published: August 15, 2022 Press Release

Hume Supernatural, the maker of cult favorite, probiotic-powered deodorants, is attracting attention from retailers, media, athletes, opinion leaders, investors—and now talent.

The brand announced three key hires to support its growth. Liza Tagliati has been appointed Vice President of Marketing; Donny Stevens has been named Creative Director; and Paige Hollingsworth has been tapped as its Content Director. All hires hail from iconic lifestyle brands.

Liza Tagliati most recently served as the Director of Marketing & Community at Stance where she launched their first head-to-toe Active Apparel collection and supercharged community programs that helped the brand both reignite brand engagement and reach new audiences. Prior to Stance, Tagliati previously served as the Marketing Director at Sun Bum, a leading sun and personal care brand.

In addition to Tagliati, Hume recently brought on Donny Stevens as Creative Director. Stevens most recently worked at leading athleisure brand Vuori, and—before that—at Surfer Magazine, both in creative capacities. Stevens will be leading the brand into the next evolution of its overall look and feel, centered around its culture and community.

Continuing to expand its marketing capabilities, Hume appointed Paige Hollingsworth as Hume’s Content Director. Hollingsworth comes from Sun Bum, where she served as its Social Media + Content Manager for the past eight years.

“It’s a rare opportunity to join a culture-driven brand in its early stages that will so clearly revolutionize its category,” said Tagliati. “Hume’s mission is clear, its product is unrivaled and it has a relentless commitment to its community. It’s a dream brand to join—a passionate group of creators, innovators, artists and athletes who care deeply for what they do, are detail obsessed, and truly live the brand every day. I can promise that what you see next out of this brand won’t be boring.”

The new roles report to Jeremy Horowitz, CEO and Co-Founder of Hume.

“I am thrilled to have talent with such broad and relevant experience join the Hume family as we chart our success,” said Horowitz. “We can’t wait to see their impact on Hume’s brand and consumer experience – and look forward to having some fun along the way.”

Horowitz is joined on the founding team and Board of Directors at Hume by Blair Marlin, SVP of Action Sports + Olympics at Wasserman Media Group; Adam Francis, former CEO and Co-Owner of Sun Bum; and Melissa Christenson, co-founding Chemist.

Adam Francis also sits on Hume’s Advisory Board, along with brand heavyweights Joe Kudla, the Vuori founder and CEO; Pendry Hotels & Resorts co-founder Michael Fuerstman; Sirenas founder Eduardo Esquenazi, PhD; and Naomi Gleit, Head of Product at Meta (formerly Facebook).

Horowitz almost can’t believe his luck in securing all these superstars for Hume.

“We have been able to assemble a best-in-class team of like-minded leaders who have all successfully scaled some of the most iconic brands and businesses globally,” said Horowitz of Hume’s all-star board and advisors.“I’m inspired and proud to work with them and benefit from their guidance as Hume becomes a leader in the category.”

Hume’s ownership group is comprised of world class athletes, musicians, creatives and artists that have come together to create a brand that inspires a healthier life that we can all feel good about and includes: international DJ Fisher; holistic wellness coach Kelly Leveque; actor, sports commentator and activist Selema Masekela; award winning Director and Producer Taylor Steele; world-class surfers Griffin and Crosby Colapinto; artist, activist and professional skateboarder Nora Vasconcellos; podcast host, comedian and professional skateboarder Jason Ellis; model, designer and environmental activist Rose Machado; musician Lily Meola; trainer and motivational expert Stef Corgel; and iconic creatives and storytellers Joe Pease, Julian Martin, Travis Kuhlman, Jimmy Wilson and Ryan Miller.

Hume’s mission to reinvent deodorant is connecting with consumers and generating industry buzz. The brand’s award-winning deodorants are fast becoming the go-to clean choice for those who want healthy-yet-effective underarm care. The brand regularly sells out of stock as its loyal fanbase continues to grow.

Hume offers five different deodorants: Desert Bloom, After Rain, Amber Woods, Out West and Fragrance Free. They retail for $14 and are available at Amazon and www.humesupernatural.com as well as select locations of Sprouts Farmers Market, Fresh Thyme Market, and The Vitamin Shoppe. Hume can also be found at Montage and Pendry Hotels & Resorts, Gravity Haus social club, and Vuori retail locations. The brand also offers an innovative, plant-powered Dry Body Oil Mist in Desert Bloom, Amber Woods and Fragrance Free that moisturizes and helps support the skin barrier, which retail for $24.

All three hires have started their posts.

ABOUT HUME SUPERNATURAL

Hume was founded in 2020 in Southern California with the mission to create a new category of supernatural personal care products, currently comprised of its hero deodorants: highly effective, clean products that trade the harsh chemicals and aluminum of standard deodorants for probiotic-powered, plant-based ingredients. Hume seeks to remind us of the power of nature through its high-performance ingredients such as prickly pear, aloe vera and diatomaceous earth that together support the skin barrier and stop odor at its core. The brand’s

highly-effective, breakthrough deodorant formula is unlike existing natural deodorants; it works to absorb moisture, trap and bind odor, support the skin microbiome and protect and nourish the skin.
