Last weekend, hundreds of individuals came together at the Marconi Automotive Museum and raised their glasses and paddles to generously donate more than $600,000 to help Tilly’s Life Center (TLC) equip and empower teens with social and emotional skills.
“According to the CDC, from 2007-2017 the suicide rates for 10-24-year-olds has increased to 56%. Given the staggering and growing statistic, at Tilly’s Life Center, our goal is to help equip teens with the tools they need to positively change their outlook on life, better connect with the world around them and effectively cope with life’s challenges,” said TLC’s Executive Director, Monica Utley.
As guests arrived at the gala, they were greeted and offered hors d’oeuvres and drinks as they perused the museum and viewed the cars on display, as well as bid on silent auction items. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed music from Soulville California, a gourmet family-style meal, were moved to donate and fund TLC’s programs, as well as bid on live auction packages given by generous donors. Together, the Orange County community came together and raised more than $600,000.
The Tilly’s Life Center team would like to extend a warm thank you to its volunteers, supporters and the event sponsors including: TILLYS, BioLargo, Vans, Rick and Dr. Adrienne Matros, CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc., Liquid Graphics, Yesenia’s Humanitarian Foundation, Union Bank, MoonGoat Coffee Roasters, O’Gara Coach Beverly Hills, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Latham & Watkins, Friar Tux, Stars and Stripes, Sonance, First Republic, Elephant Cooperation, Lou E.
