Encouraging people to shift their focus away from looking for deep discounts over the Thanksgiving Weekend is the motivation behind Arcade creating the White Friday initiative. The annual program continues to develop upon the original goal of encouraging consumers to start thinking about how their dollars are used in the end during what is typically a time of year that sees a crazy rush of consumerism. As we enter the fourth year of this program we continue to ask people to choose a donation rather than a discount.
“While retail mob scenes are entertaining on YouTube, we get more kicks out of knowing customers are enjoying time with family and friends, all while supporting an organization that drives real change on climate policy. We take climate change seriously as a long-term threat facing our industry and we want to invest in those that are taking action on behalf of all of us”, states Tristan Queen, Co-Founder, Arcade Belts. “We want to encourage conservation of the places we love and we want others to join us. Helping open the door for others to contribute to POW’s efforts is the positive change we hope to create.”
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Arcade will donate $5 for every belt purchased to Protect Our Winters. Protect Our Winters (POW) is a Colorado-based non-profit that raises money and awareness about the impacts of climate change within the outdoor sports community.
