SPY is happy to announce that it will be making its return to the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market trade show in January 2017. SPY’s decision to venture back to Outdoor Retailer comes at the request of both key retail partners and media outlets who have been exceptionally vocal in their desire to connect face-to-face at the show with the brand. During OR, SPY will be holding it down in booth #37175, adjacent to the Venture Out section of the show, showcasing its latest snow goggles, sunglasses, and optical frames built specifically for adventures outdoors.
SPY’s return to Outdoor Retailer is in lockstep with the evolution of its customer base, as well as the positive reception it has received from both outdoor-focused retailers and media alike. From sunglass reviews by Outside Magazine titled “Who Makes The Best Sunglass Lenses” to The Manual calling SPY’s Bravo “The Season’s Best Goggle,” there have been no shortage of praise by the media for SPY’s patent-pending Happy Lens™ and its latest frame designs.
“SPY’s appeal is broader than it ever was before. Our decision to have a booth at Outdoor Retailer represents the progression of our customer base and our product line. SPY’s latest product line includes some key pieces the outdoor industry is going to love, along with some new frames that will be establishing trends in 2017,” commented Charlie Ninegar, SPY vice president of sales.
To accommodate retail partners who will not be able to attend Outdoor Retailer, SPY will have an off-site presence in Denver during SIA.
“This is going to be a busy winter for SPY and our snow program. We’ll be announcing new snow athletes soon and our Happy to Squash the Beef Goggle Demo Tour kicks off in early January. For retailers who can’t make OR, we’ll still have a presence in Denver during the show and can connect with them there,” commented Andrew Thomas, SPY Marketing Manager.
While at Outdoor Retailer, SPY will be showcasing some of its latest sunglass and optical products built for the active outdoor market, along with new developments in the snow category. Highlights include:
- Hunt: An uncompromising blend of modern sunglass style and performance in a way that has never been seen before from SPY. Proven Happy Lens technology is complimented by a frame that holds its own in any situation.
- Tackle: Built for those who consider their sunglasses to be essential gear for any outdoor adventure. Constructed from nearly indestructible Grilamid® and available with Trident™ polarization, the Tackle places SPY’s Happy Lens technology into a frame specifically designed for outdoor pursuits. Available in Happy Rx for prescription wearers, select models are Z87.1 ANSI certified for those who require extra impact protection when working indoors and outside.
- Justice: While all of SPY’s sunglass frames can accommodate prescription sun lenses, the Justice is an optical-specific frame specifically designed with the active outdoor consumer in mind. Built to push the limits, the Justice has the features and design prescription wearers crave whether they’re indoors or out.
- Prescription Goggle Inserts: What good is SPY’s Happy Lens technology if your vision is blurry? Gone are the days of jamming your eyeglasses under your goggles. SPY’s snow goggles are now available with anti-fog prescription inserts, so eyeglass wearers can have the ultimate combo of visibility and performance while on the slopes.
Retailers looking to connect with SPY while at OR and SIA can email Tia King (tia.king@spyoptic.com) to schedule an appointment to meet with the sales team.
About SPY:
SPY is an unconventional, fun-loving family of athletes and artists committed to creating exceptional optical products. Established in 1994, we are an independent Southern California-based company. We design products—sunglasses, goggles, and prescription frames—that take style cues from the outdoor sports community we’re engrained in, as well as the lifestyle that surrounds it. Our exclusive Happy Lens technology is the only lens on the market which harnesses the beneficial aspects of long-wave blue light, while offering protection from short-wave blue light known to damage the eyes. The Happy Lens name comes from independent studies which have shown that long-wave blue light can positively affect a person’s mood and alertness. To learn more about SPY, go to www.spyoptic.com.
