Beginning November 14th, Sun Diego is partnering with Feeding America for the launch of their eighth-annual canned food drive. Sun Diego retail locations will be offering a promotional discount of 20% off all product in stores with customers’ donation of three or more canned food items. Through their past events, the local surf and skateboard shop chain has collected and contributed an average of 3,000 pounds of food each year. This season of giving, Sun Diego is proud to once more work alongside Feeding America San Diego to help local families and individuals in need, through securing meals and challenging hunger head on.
This holiday season, Sun Diego Boardshops encourages all customers to contribute by donating canned food items, in an effort to fight hunger in the San Diego County area. Extinguishing hunger can provide a helping of hope to those in need, especially in life’s most challenging times. This promotion runs through November 25th, but your contributions can continue throughout the year. Feeding America is the largest domestic hunger relief organization in the nation. In leading the fight against hunger, Feeding America distributes over 3 billion meals annually to communities in need throughout the United States. There are over 435,000 people in San Diego County alone who are considered “food insecure”, which refers to those who may not have consistent access to an adequate food supply. The value of charity, especially throughout the holidays, is immeasurable.
