Tilly’s Life Center (TLC) held it’s first ever “I Am Giving” Gala this Saturday, September 26th at the Island Hotel Newport Beach raising just over $100,000 for their “I Am Me” and “I Am Healthy” programs.
Guests arrived in style to kick off the night with cocktails, silent auction and gaming. As the ballroom doors opened, a nine-piece band with dancers, Soulville, greeted everyone with a powerful rendition of Pharrell’s “Happy.”
Many couldn’t help but dance their way to their seats.
After a gourmet dinner featuring short ribs, salmon wellington and a diverse selection of sushi, the program began with a moving song and rap by Sidney Bowen and Chris Young reminding us all, that “this is just the beginning.”
Tilly herself then took the stage to highlight the reason she set out to develop an empowerment program for teens and encourage all in attendance to help this generation to “become happy and successful future leaders, parents, and employees.”
TLC graduates also shared their stories and a live auction featuring exclusive vacations, driving experiences, a private in-home chef and even an adorable puppy named “Giver” ensued.
TLC’s supporters then danced the night away and played more casino games to keep the giving going. It truly was a special evening of food, fun, gaming and giving.
TLC would like to thank all the supporters, volunteers and sponsors who helped make their first Gala a huge success.
