Surfline, the world’s leading surf report and forecast service, is pleased to welcome Rip Curl, the Ultimate Surfing Company, as its latest Surfline Sessions Compatible Partner.
As of today, Rip Curl SearchGPS watch owners can pair their device with the Surfline Sessions app and receive video footage of their rides from over 600 Surfline surf cameras around the world.
The Search GPS watch counts a surfer’s waves, measures top speed, determines distance paddled, tracks total water time, and now, thanks to the Surfline Sessions partnership, enables surfers to capture their rides on video.
Here’s how it works: A surfer with a Rip Curl SearchGPS Watch heads to the beach and presses start on their watch. After surfing for as long as they wish in front of any Surfline camera, the Surfline/Rip Curl connection creates not only a record of each wave ridden in the Rip Curl app, but also a video clip of each ride in the Surfline app — all delivered to the surfer’s iPhone by the time they get out of their wetsuit.
