Summer 2019 Highlights:
Retail sales continue to rebound from a lackluster 2018, increasing by 0.6% in June 2019—as compared to May 2019—and increasing by 2.3%, year-over-year.

The impact of the trade war and uncertainty surrounding trade with China have continued to weigh on the apparel industry into the latter half of 2019. A fourth round of tariffs was recently threatened on approximately $300 billion in additional Chinese goods.

Despite recent trade uncertainty, select apparel, accessory, and footwear companies are currently trading at a 26.6% valuation premium to the S&P 500 at 15.7 times trailing twelve months enterprise value over earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (TTM EV/EBITDA).
